Pay your deposit and submit final transcripts Accept Your Admission
If you’re offered admission to UT Austin and decide to accept, there are a couple of steps you’ll need to take to make your admission official. In addition, you should see about completing tasks related to other processes and make sure to stay in touch.
Making Your Admission Official
Pay Your Enrollment Deposit (incoming summer and fall students only)
To make your admission official and secure your spot in the incoming class, one of the things you’ll need to do is pay a $200 enrollment deposit or have an official deposit waiver approved by the deadline shown on your Application Status page. Your enrollment deposit will be applied to your first semester’s tuition and fees, and the deposit is not refundable after May 1.
Students admitted for the spring or as summer transients do not need to pay the enrollment deposit.
Upgrade Your UT EID Password
Now that you’re admitted to UT Austin, you’re required to upgrade your UT EID password so that it is more secure.
You’ll continue to use your UT EID and password to access important online services on My Be a Longhorn as you complete your transition to the university. You can pay your enrollment deposit (incoming summer and fall students only), check your financial aid package and more by logging in to your personal page, My Be a Longhorn, with your UT EID and password.
Submit Final Transcripts
Have your current college submit a final official transcript before you enroll at UT Austin. We’ll use your transcript to confirm college credit and to ensure admission. (Any significant drop in your grade point average in the courses you take before enrolling at UT Austin may result in the withdrawal of the university's offer of admission.)
Complete Other Processes
In addition to completing the steps to accept your admission, you’ll also want to make certain that you keep on top of related tasks and processes. You’ll need to see about orientation, financial aid, and housing. After you’re admitted, it’s also a good idea to become familiar with the numerous resources and services that support admitted and enrolled students.
International students should also plan to see about additional issues when planning for enrollment.
Stay in Touch
It's important to stay in touch with the university as you take all the steps needed for your transition to life as a Longhorn. My Be a Longhorn will see you through your admissions and enrollment process until the day you arrive on campus for orientation.
By logging in with your UT EID and password, you can pay your enrollment deposit, complete your on-campus housing contract, and check your financial aid package.
