Saying “no thank you” Decline Admission

If you’ve been offered admission to The University of Texas at Austin but have decided that another college or university is a better option for you, you can decline your admission online.

To decline your admission, log in to MyStatus. On the Admissions tab, click the to-do item that reads "Accept or decline your offer of admission" and then follow the link to "decline our offer of admission." (If a link to decline your admission doesn't appear in your message, please call 512-475-7387 to speak with an admissions counselor about declining your admission.)

Declining your offer of admission will also cancel your housing application if you have one on file.
