Information about the ApplyTexas Application

You’ll find special instructions for using ApplyTexas and completing all kinds of admissions applications to UT on the ApplyTexas Instructions page.

The ApplyTexas Application makes it easier for applicants to apply to more than one Texas university. When you start an application online, you’ll be assigned a username that connects you to the site for all the universities you apply to. If you apply to two universities, UT Austin and UT San Antonio, for example, the information you enter as part of your UT Austin application will be shared with your application to UT San Antonio.

Your application identifier is not connected to a particular university and so is not the same as your UT EID. When dealing with UT Austin processes, such as Status Check or event or visit registration, be sure to use your UT EID rather than your ApplyTexas Application ID.

On-Campus Housing

If you’re applying for freshman admission and you want to live on-campus, you should apply for housing as soon as possible after you complete your application for admission.

Transfer applicants should visit the Transfer Housing page for information about applying for housing.

It’s never too late

Applying early to live on campus can improve your chances of being assigned to the residence hall you request. However, it’s really never too late to apply for housing. In recent years all freshmen admitted to the university who wanted to live on campus were offered space in a residence hall.

Any freshman applicant interested in applying for scholarships at The University of Texas at Austin must complete the scholarship section of the ApplyTexas Application for Freshman Admission by December 1. Scholarship applicants must apply for admission online through ApplyTexas and complete the scholarship and essay sections of the application before submitting it.
