Visiting the 40 Acres Group Visits
The University of Texas at Austin welcomes groups of 10 or more students in grades 8 – 12 for afternoon group visit sessions every weekday.
To schedule a group visit, please contact the Office of Admissions at 512-471-1988. Because of facility size constraints and scheduling conflicts, not all groups can be accommodated.
Group Visit Activities
Groups of 80 or Fewer 8th Graders
Coordinators for a visit by a group of 80 or fewer 8th graders should contact the Office of Admissions to register for the following activities Monday through Friday* by calling the Office of Admissions at 512-471-1988:
- 3:00 p.m. Student led Q&A Session
- 3:30 p.m. Walking Tour
- 4:30 p.m. Depart Campus
*Group visits are not available on University holidays, Columbus Day, exam weeks, Thanksgiving week, or President’s Day. During March, group visits are held only on Tuesdays through Thursdays.
Groups of 80 or Fewer 9th – 12th Graders
Coordinators for a visit by a group of 80 or fewer students in grades 9 – 12 should contact the Office of Admissions to register for the following activities Monday through Friday* by calling the Office of Admissions at 512-471-1988:

- 3:15 p.m. Student Panel
- 3:30 p.m. Walking Tour
- 4:30 p.m. Depart Campus

Guidelines and Code of Conduct
All visiting groups must adhere to the Office of Admissions Group Visit Guidelines and the Code of Conduct for Visiting Groups (see below). Chaperones are required to sign and return a copy of the guidelines to the Office of Admissions prior to the scheduled visit.
Code of Conduct for Visiting Groups
- Individual group members must remain orderly at all times. Groups should stay together and individuals should take care to keep up with the group.
- Inside buildings, everyone should use soft inside voices. The University of Texas at Austin is a teaching institution first and foremost.
- The use of electronic devices such as music players or cell phones is prohibited during guided tours and presentations.
- Visitors must conduct themselves in a courteous and respectful manner toward each other, University staff, students, University property. Inappropriate comments and gestures will not be tolerated. Gratuitous comments, jokes, questions, anecdotes or remarks of a sexual nature will not be tolerated.
- Any person who engages in violence while on University owned or controlled property, or while engaged in official University business, may be removed and/or barred from the premises pending the outcome of an investigation. Violent behavior includes any behavior, whether intentional or reckless, which results in bodily injury to another person and/or damage to property.

All other groups are encouraged to take advantage of the following opportunities available from the University and the state to accommodate your group’s visit:
