Requirements and deadlines International Transfer Students

If you’re applying for undergraduate admission and you have any previous post-secondary study, you must submit the following items by the application deadline.

March 1 - Summer/Fall Deadline

October 1 - Spring Deadline

Application Requirements
Application	Submit your completed ApplyTexas Application (the online application is preferred).
Non-refundable $90 application processing fee	Must be paid before your application will be processed; must accompany application for admission to avoid a delay in processing Online payment preferred when completing the online application; pay by credit card (MasterCard or Visa) or electronic check (Do not send cash or personal checks.) Alternate payment by check or money order If you are not able to pay your fee online using a credit card, you may mail your fee payment in the form of a cashier’s check, bank money order or bank draft in U.S. dollars to: University of Texas at Austin GIAC, International Undergraduate Admissions P.O. Box 7306 Austin, TX 78713-7306 Make checks payable to The University of Texas at Austin. Do not send cash or personal checks. Write your Application ID number (six digit), UT EID, or UT Assigned Student ID number (or SSN if you have one) on your check or money order.
Official transcripts; related documents	Upload a PDF copy of your official record of all secondary school work, including subjects taken and grades earned Upload a PDF copy of your official record of all previous post-secondary school, university and college level work, including subjects taken and grades earned
Test scores	Submit official test scores for either the TOEFL or the IELTS
Essays	Include two admission essays The Optional Essay (Essay E) is strongly recommended.
Resume	Submit a resume showing your contributions, talents, honors and abilities in extracurricular, personal and volunteer activities.
Major-specific Requirements	To be considered for admission to some majors, applicants must meet additional requirements or submit additional materials. Review the information about program-specific requirements for affected majors when completing your application.
Recommendations (optional)	Preferred method: Use the Document Upload System to upload your recommendation(s) or send an email to your recommender(s) to submit them on your behalf (recommendations are not required for most freshman and transfer applicants).
Financial Requirements	To enroll at UT Austin, admitted international students must meet the financial requirements established by the International Office.

Application materials, including test scores and transcripts, are kept for one calendar year. If you’ve applied for transfer admission to UT Austin in the past, you may be required to re-submit certain credentials.
