The University of Texas at Austin

Your housing contract includes an expiration date that is usually 5-10 days after the date it is sent to you.

  • The Division of Housing and Food must receive your accepted/signed contract and your advance payment by the expiration date for your contract to be valid.
  • Your expiration date is an arrival deadline, not a postmark deadline.
  • If your signed contract and your advance payment do not arrive in the Division of Housing and Food by the expiration date, your contract will be cancelled.

Cancelled Contracts

If your contract and payment do not arrive by the expiration date, your contract offer will be cancelled and your housing application will be deactivated.

If your contract is cancelled, contact the Division of Housing and Food at housing@austin.utexas.edu or at 512-471-3136 to reactivate your application or with any questions.
