Room Assignment e-mails will begin rolling out in mid-July to students whose contracts, advance payments, and completed immunization documentation for the fall semester have arrived. Your room assignment information will include:

  • Your residence hall assignment
  • Your room number and bath type
  • The name, contact telephone number and e-mail address of your roommate(s)

When you receive your room assignment notification, you’ll also receive a link to the Living on Campus Guide with detailed information about living on campus and check-in information. Once you receive your room assignment, you will need to schedule a check-in time.

Residence Hall Opening

Residence halls open for the fall semester in late August. Check the Academic Calendar for the residence hall opening and closing dates.

How Room Assignments Are Made

Room assignments are made based on the date on which a housing application is complete; housing applications are complete only after the $50 housing application fee has arrived.

Applicants who applied early are more likely to receive a preferred housing assignment. However, that doesn’t mean that applicants who apply late aren’t able to live on campus or to find a suitable accommodation. Even students who wait to apply for housing after being admitted have been offered space in on-campus housing in recent years. (That doesn’t mean, however, that it’s a good idea to wait to apply; applying as soon as you complete your application for admission is still the best advice.)

Is Your E-mail Current?

Housing notifications and confirmations are sent by e-mail. Update your contact information (including your e-mail address) whenever something changes so that we can keep in touch.
