If you’re having a bit of trouble keeping up with the changes that UT Austin’s admissions and related processes are seeing this year, you can find a comprehensive overview of what to expect in our Special Edition of Campus to Counselor.

The ApplyTexas Application for admission opened on August 1 this year (rather than the usual September 1). Students applying for entry in either the summer or fall of 2009 must submit a complete application for admission by the new deadline of January 15, 2009.

The University of Texas at Austin now offers applicants who are not prepared to select a major when applying for admission the option of applying as Undeclared majors in the School of Undergraduate Studies. Students who select this option when applying will receive special advising services to help them find a path to graduation that will help them achieve their goals.

The Freshman Admissions Center on the University of Texas at Austin campus will be undergoing both external and internal renovations beginning in early fall 2008. Regularly planned campus visit information sessions and events should not be affected by the renovations, but if you or your students are planning a trip to campus and have questions, please feel free to contact the FAC ahead of time.

Students applying to pre-design, studio art, and visual art studies in the Department of Art & Art History must now submit an art portfolio to complete their application for admission.
